here is a short bio:
Hostal Handshake is a Heavy Hard/Doom/Stoner/Alternative/Funk band that was formed in Athens in the year 2001. The first ever line-up was: Markos (guitar/vocals), Bubz (drums) and Aris (bass guitar). The first cd was released in 2002 entitled “H2″ containing the first 3 songs of the band. It took good critics from the press, so as our next release “Public Affears”. “Public Affears” (2003) had a most representative sound and music of our band than the previous one, because there were 6 new songs of the band. Hostal Handshake have already been included in the soundtrack of a low budget film and in an compilation CD from Underground tapes. In the period between 2003-2004, Markos went to army and then one year later (around 2005), with a brand new line-up and many rehearsals the 3rd demo-promo CD came to life. “Bitched up!” contains 7 songs and took many good critics all around Greece (Metal Hammer GR: 8/10-second on the demo playlist, Rock-underground. gr: 9/10, Metalzone. gr: 88/100, Monolith. gr: 10/13, Greekrebels. gr, Rocking. gr). Then many live performances took place in order to promote “Bitched Up!”. Then in the year 2006 another change had been made in Hostal Handshake’s line-up and until now it is: Markos (vocals/guitars), Panos (vocals/bass guitar) and Stamatis (drums). With 5 only rehearsals, the brand new Hostals wanted to catch up a gig in February of 2006 and this was their first live appearance with the new members! In 2007 Hostal Handshake finally recorded their brand new and first full-length album with 9 songs, produced by our “official” producer ,Aris Mark, and the band proudly signed with Secret Port records to release it under the name “Hellish”.
The album will be released in October of 2007 and until then many live gigs and new plans are scheduled and will take place!
